Aspectos positivos: We quickly became friends with our host, Leonel, who built the house himself using traditional materials and methods. He found us fresh-caught fish during a busy week and also offered us his special ceviche (he used to own a restaurant in town). He graciously went out of his way to help us with things we needed and we spent a great Christmas week together.

Aspectos negativos: The house was great for us and we loved our stay, but it may not be suitable for others. A couple things to keep in mind: - If you don’t have your own car: It’s located up a VERY steep hill that you’ll have to walk up/down every time you go to the beach/town - If you’re not comfortable with bugs: There are mosquito nets on all the beds and screens on the windows/doors, but the house feels more like indoor/outdoor living, especially because of the large deck and incredible ocean views. We were constantly going in and out and this meant critters were too. Bring mosquito repellant (this goes for anywhere you stay in San Augustinillo/Mazunte)
